The Inpatient Services Charge Nurse role is an additional responsibility assigned to the Inpatient Services RN. This assignment is for a limited period of time.

The Charge Nurse must coordinate and schedule direct patient care staff to provide coverage of Acute Dialysis treatments. They must ensure efficient patient scheduling and staff utilization in accordance with the TAP scheduling tool.

The Charge Nurse must ensure accurate documentation related to patient treatment is entered into ACES during the time of treatment. They are required to monitor ACES compliance on a daily basis.

The Charge Nurse must serve as a liaison between the administrative staff of each hospital or facility and the Program Manager. They must also communicate with the physician and other members of the healthcare team to interpret and complete patient care plans.
