Well, a Propulsion Engineer on the Raptor Development Operations team is responsible for guiding the development of future versions of the Raptor engine. They own one or more systems on the engine, which means they define requirements, develop operations, and ensure everything works well with the vehicle.

To get into this role, you’ll need a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and at least a year of experience with pressurized fluid systems. A bit of hands-on experience with engine development would be a plus!

Some key responsibilities include owning system-level processes critical to engine function, establishing hardware and operational requirements, and communicating system capabilities clearly. You’ll also be involved in test planning and troubleshooting, which is pretty exciting!
