The primary responsibilities of the Registered Nurse include planning, organizing, and directing hospice care. The RN supervises and coordinates care for patients with terminal illnesses and provides comprehensive nursing services in either home or hospice inpatient settings.

To qualify for this position, candidates must be graduates of an accredited school of nursing. Additionally, one year of professional nursing experience in acute care, home care, or hospice inpatient settings is preferred.

Candidates must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina or hold a current compact/multi-state license in a recognized NCSBN Compact State. Furthermore, current CPR certification is also required for this role.

The Registered Nurse must demonstrate comprehensive physical assessment skills and the ability to implement the nursing process. Additionally, skills in teaching and learning principles are essential for this role.

Upon joining the Hospice team, each nurse is assigned a specific territory based on their preferences during the offer and orientation process. There is also a clear process in place for nurses to request a different territory as new opportunities arise.
