Texas Health Resources Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery (L&D) Unit – Full-Time – Nights: Job Overview, Location, and Employment Details

This position is located at Texas Health HEB, specifically at 1600 Hospital Parkway in Bedford, Texas. The facility is known for its comprehensive women’s health services.

The work hours for this role are full-time, specifically during the night shift. You will be expected to work 36 hours weekly, consisting of three 12-hour shifts from 6:30 pm to 6:30 am.

The Labor and Delivery Department features a 9-bed L&D unit and a 4-bed OB Emergency Department, along with three operating room suites. The unit averages about 200 deliveries a month and includes a Level III NICU, indicating a high level of care for newborns.

An Associate Degree in Nursing or a Nursing Diploma is required for this position, although a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Additionally, you must be a Registered Nurse upon hire.

You must have Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification prior to providing independent patient care, and it must be maintained quarterly. Other required certifications include Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI), all of which must be completed within 90 days of hire.

You need at least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse or the completion of an RN residency program. Additionally, one year of RN experience specifically in Labor and Delivery is strongly preferred.

In this role, you will deliver care to patients by utilizing the Nursing Process. This includes assessing patients, planning their care, intervening as appropriate, and evaluating the effectiveness of those interventions.
