The primary responsibility of a Server/Bartender is to wait on and serve food and beverages to restaurant guests in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner. This role involves greeting guests, responding to their inquiries, and ensuring they have a positive dining experience.

The job involves presenting menus to guests, answering questions about food and drinks, making suggestions, and writing or memorizing orders. The server then relays or enters these orders into the POS system for the kitchen and bar to prepare the meals and beverages.

The Server/Bartender is responsible for accurately totaling, processing, and collecting payments from guests. This includes using the point-of-sale system, handling cash, processing credit and debit cards, making change, and managing gift certificates, cards, and vouchers.

The role requires stocking and maintaining the bar with items such as beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice, and produce. Additionally, the server must mix and garnish beverages according to recipes and portion control standards, and serve beverages to guests.

The Server/Bartender must check guests for proper identification and serve alcoholic beverages in accordance with federal, state, local, and company laws and regulations. This ensures responsible alcohol service and compliance with legal requirements.

The Server/Bartender may assist with plating and delivering meals to guests, as well as helping kitchen staff by ladling soup, tossing salads, portioning desserts, brewing coffee, and performing other tasks as needed based on the restaurant’s requirements.

The role involves working with the hotel team to create and deliver a memorable service experience for guests. This includes handling guest requests personally or referring them to other team members as appropriate, and providing the highest quality of service in a warm and enthusiastic manner.

The Server/Bartender is expected to maintain a professional image at all times through their actions, appearance, and dress. This helps uphold the restaurant’s standards and provides guests with a positive impression.
