MCR Hotels Bartender, Bar: Job Overview, Location, and Employment Details

The main responsibility of the bartender is to provide customized beverage service to hotel restaurant and bar customers in a friendly, energetic, and timely manner. They are also responsible for ensuring that guests are having a great time or relaxing while at the bar.

The bartender must greet guests, describe food and beverage options clearly and accurately, and mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard recipes. They also need to promote and document drink orders and ensure proper portion control.

The bartender inputs orders into the computer system, secures accurate payments, receives cash from guests, makes change as needed, verifies the validity of charges, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed to balance all money at the end of their shift.

The bartender is responsible for maintaining the proper setup of the bar area, stocking beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, and produce. They also sanitize and clean the bar area regularly and lock up and store beverages, food, and equipment items securely.

The bartender completes a daily inventory prep sheet and manages the stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables to ensure proper inventory levels.

The bartender must ensure compliance with food safety and handling policies, including product rotation, dating, labeling, and cleaning. They are also responsible for maintaining cleanliness in and around the bar and surrounding areas.

Experience in a hospitality, service, or consumer-facing franchise is preferred, along with knowledge of drink preparation and previous bartender experience.

The bartender should demonstrate knowledge of the hotel’s hours and available amenities and work effectively and efficiently with the service and kitchen teams to ensure smooth operations.
