The main responsibility of the Bar Back is to support the bartender by restocking products to ensure the bar remains fully stocked during events. This includes tasks such as stocking beverages, ice, and supplies, as well as maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bar area. The role also involves ensuring all policies regarding alcohol dispensing are followed.

The Bar Back is responsible for stocking alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, icing wells, sweeping and mopping the bar, moving kegs in and out of coolers, and tapping kegs. They also draft beer, pour wine for guests, and run supplies like fruit, napkins, cups, utensils, and stirrers to the bartenders.

The Bar Back must maintain cleanliness of the bar and surrounding areas by following sanitation procedures, which include mopping floors, cleaning and stacking floor mats, emptying and relining trash cans, and keeping closet areas free of debris. They are also responsible for ensuring that the equipment is operable and clean before each event.

The Bar Back contributes to guest safety by recognizing guests who are visibly intoxicated and alerting the bartenders to take appropriate action. They also help maintain a clean and organized environment, which enhances the overall guest experience during events.

The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, event-driven environment. The employee must also demonstrate excellent attendance and be available to work scheduled events as needed, which may vary depending on the business’s requirements.

The hourly pay for this position ranges from $15.16 to $18.50 and is tip eligible. Benefits include a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions, and part-time, seasonal, and internship employees accrue one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year.
