Marriott Hotels & Resorts Bartender – Full-time: Job Overview, Location, and Employment Details

The bartender is responsible for preparing drink orders for guests according to specified recipes using measuring systems. They also issue, open, and serve wine and champagne bottles, and set up and maintain the cleanliness and condition of the bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools. Additionally, they prepare fresh garnishes for drinks, stock ice, glassware, and paper supplies, and transport supplies to the bar set-up area.

The bartender maintains the bar area by keeping it clean and in good condition, washing soiled glassware, removing soiled wares from the bar top and tables, and placing them in designated areas. They also secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas to ensure safety and organization.

The bartender processes all payment methods received from guests, counts the bank at the end of each shift, completes designated cashier reports, resolves any discrepancies, drops off receipts, and secures the bank to prevent theft or loss.

The bartender must follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe work conditions to the manager, and complete safety training and certifications as required by the company.

The bartender should ensure their uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional at all times. They are expected to welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.

The bartender needs to speak with others using clear and professional language to ensure effective communication with guests and team members. They should also develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and support the team in reaching common goals.

The bartender may need to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods during their shift. They are required to move, lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance, and manipulate objects of varying sizes and weights with fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

The bartender is expected to protect company assets, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and ensure safety by reporting accidents or unsafe conditions. They must also complete safety training and certifications to uphold safety standards.

The bartender should develop positive working relationships with others, listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of employees, and support the team to achieve shared goals. They should also communicate clearly and professionally at all times.
