The Caregiver is responsible for implementing and supporting the resident care plan and assisting residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and mobility tasks. They respond promptly to all resident care needs to ensure comfort and safety.

This role includes tasks such as transferring residents in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs, or automobiles, performing hygiene tasks, toileting, assisting with meals, and maintaining cleanliness in residents’ rooms and common areas.

The Caregiver takes and records vital signs like temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, and blood pressure at predetermined intervals. They also measure intake and collect specimens such as sputum, urine, and stool as ordered.

The Caregiver engages residents in meaningful conversations and activities related to their individual interests. They also support new residents during their welcome and assimilation process.

The Caregiver responds to all emergency situations promptly and completes incident reports for any incidents that occur during their shift, ensuring safety and proper documentation.

Beyond direct resident care, the Caregiver may perform housekeeping duties, assist with resident room and facility cleanliness, and participate in resident care conferences and group activities as needed.
