The Nursing Assistant will perform routine duties such as personal grooming, bathing, toileting, feeding, and skin care including dressing changes and applying ointments or creams. They will also assist with oral hygiene, specimen collection and testing, positioning and ambulating patients, changing linens, and responding promptly to call lights.

The rehab center serves patients with multiple diagnoses including neurological, orthopedic, oncology, amputee, spinal cord injury, and transplant cases. The majority of patients are adults, but adolescents aged 13 and older are also seen.

The inpatient rehab unit has 30 beds dedicated to providing care for patients undergoing acute rehabilitation, which allows for focused treatment and recovery.

This position involves working in a highly collaborative environment with various disciplines such as physicians, rehab nurses, social workers, dietary staff, and physical, occupational, and speech therapists. The primary goal is to help patients return home successfully.

The facility partners with the University of Minnesota Medical School and University of Minnesota Physicians, providing opportunities to specialize in breakthrough treatments, surgical techniques, and lifesaving therapies, as well as training future physicians.
