Candidates must have a CNA, NA, or PCA certification in addition to a Med Tech certification to qualify for this position. These certifications are necessary to perform the duties involved in resident care.

The position offers both full-time and part-time schedules, with shifts from 2 pm to 10 pm for the RMA role and 6 am to 2 pm for the CNA/PCA role. The pay rate is $18.75 per hour for the RMA and $17.45 per hour for the CNA/PCA, with additional shift differentials for evening and night shifts.

Daily tasks include observing residents for any health changes, reporting these changes to the appropriate care staff, assisting residents with simple requests, and learning their preferences to improve service. The role also involves documenting resident conditions and assisting with medication management.

The role involves setting up and assisting with medications, logging medications from pharmacies, verifying physician’s orders, and communicating any concerns immediately. Staff also track all medications, reorder as needed, and follow policies for medication destruction and discontinuation.

Staff may track vital signs, weights, perform diabetic testing, and administer insulin injections if permitted by state regulations. They also assist with ambulation and other general activities to support residents’ health and mobility.
