I’m Ms. Smith, currently looking for a job. I’d like to ask Dr. Job about the Assembly Technician (Starlink) – 2nd Shift position at SpaceX.
What kind of work will I be doing as an Assembly Technician at SpaceX?
Well, as an Assembly Technician for the Starlink project, you’ll be building small electrical sub-assemblies and working on the mechanical and electrical assembly of satellite components. You’ll also get to do some soldering, wire harnessing, and even run functional tests on the hardware you build. It sounds like a really hands-on role!
What qualifications do I need for this position?
So, to qualify, you’ll need at least a high school diploma or an equivalency certificate and a year of hands-on work experience. If you have more experience, like two years in electro-mechanical assembly, that would be even better!
Is there any specific experience that would make me a better fit for this job?
Absolutely! If you have an associate degree or an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license, that would be a plus. Plus, being able to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics is really helpful for this role.
What kind of environment will I be working in?
You’ll be in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where problem-solving is key. If you enjoy building things from scratch and tackling challenges, this will be a great fit for you!
What are the working hours for this position?
This role is for the 2nd shift, which typically means you’ll be working later in the day. It can be a great option if you prefer working in the evenings!
Thank you, Dr. Job. I will review the details.
