Well, as a Sr. Propulsion Engineer, you’d be responsible for ensuring the flightworthiness of engine hardware and software. That means you’d oversee everything from the initial build to testing and actual flight operations. You’d really be taking ownership of the engine hardware and working on initiatives to improve its reliability and lifespan, especially since they focus a lot on reusability.

You’ll need at least a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, plus 5 or more years of hands-on experience with hardware, like fabrication and testing. Also, having experience with combustion devices or rocket engine development is a must, along with proficiency in CAD for designing parts.

Actually, having a Master’s degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering would be a big plus. It’d also help if you have a solid understanding of flow principles, thermodynamics, and materials.
