Hospital Sisters Health System Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Cardiac: Job Overview, Location, and Employment Details

This position is located in Tremont, Illinois, specifically at HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital. The hospital is undergoing a $90 million renovation, which includes new state-of-the-art units.

The salary for this position ranges from $34 to $51 per hour. Compensation is aligned with the candidate’s experience, and there are additional shift differentials for night, weekend, and call shifts.

This role is a full-time position, requiring the nurse to work three 12-hour night shifts from 5:45 PM to 6:15 AM. The schedule includes every other weekend rotation and alternate holidays.

The RN will provide comprehensive patient care by establishing a compassionate environment and offering emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and their families. The nurse will also collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to promote and restore patients’ health.

The RN is expected to complete the nursing process, supervise assigned team members, and promote patient independence by setting care goals. Additionally, the nurse will teach patients and their families about their conditions, medications, and self-care skills.

The position offers a sign-on bonus of $20,000 for eligible candidates. This bonus is an incentive for new hires to join the team at HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital.

The nurse-to-patient ratio in the Med Surg/Cardiac unit is a maximum of 1:6. This ratio allows for focused and attentive care for the majority of the cardiac population in the hospital.

Candidates must be graduates from an accredited and approved school of nursing that is accepted for licensure in the state. This educational background is essential for ensuring that the nurse meets the necessary standards for practice.
