The preferred educational background for this position includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). Candidates currently enrolled in an RN-BSN program are also considered for this role.

The essential responsibilities of the nurse in this position include protecting and promoting health, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering through nursing diagnosis and treatment. The nurse also demonstrates leadership by overseeing the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide holistic care and advocate for patients and families.

After hiring, the nurse is required to complete Kaweah Health approved crisis intervention training within 60 days. Furthermore, they must obtain a Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) provider card within 18 months and a Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) certification within three years.
