Sonesta Bartender/Server: Job Overview, Location, and Employment Details

The primary responsibility of the bartender at Sonesta is to welcome guests, take their orders, and prepare and serve food and beverages in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner. This role also involves maintaining the bar area, ensuring high quality and consistency in service, and contributing to the overall guest experience.

The bartender is responsible for setting up the bar area before service, which includes preparing the space for guests, and breaking it down after service, ensuring the area is clean and organized. These tasks help maintain a high level of quality and sanitation standards throughout the shift.

The ideal candidate should have a passion for hospitality and providing exceptional guest service. They should also be able to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a friendly and courteous attitude towards guests.

This job requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and mostly indoors, with the tolerance for extreme temperatures such as those found in kitchens and freezers. The physical demands include being able to work long shifts, sometimes lasting ten to twelve hours.

The work hours are flexible, and the candidate must be willing to work variable days of the week, including weekends and holidays. Shifts may include days, nights, and overnights, and sometimes require ten to twelve hours of work.

Experience as a bartender is required, preferably in a high-volume bar setting. Experience with computerized cash registers is also preferred, and a high school diploma or GED is considered advantageous.

The bartender’s essential duties include greeting and interacting with guests warmly, taking their orders, preparing drinks according to recipes, and serving all food and beverage requests at the bar. They must also demonstrate complete knowledge of the menu.
