The CNA prepares residents for meals and snacks, assists with distributing food trays, and feeds residents based on their needs and disabilities following accepted standards of practice.

The CNA observes residents’ conditions by measuring and recording food and liquid intake and output, vital signs, and reports any changes to the professional nursing staff for further action.

The CNA assists in the admission, transfer, and discharge processes of residents, ensuring smooth transitions and proper documentation during these procedures.

CNAs are expected to maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude, build and promote relationships with residents, visitors, staff, and regulators, and comply with all rules regarding residents’ rights and confidentiality.

CNAs are encouraged to attend orientation, training sessions, educational activities, in-service functions, and staff meetings to stay updated on best practices and improve their skills.
