The responsibilities include identifying residents using wristbands or photo cards after treatments or meals, recording all entries on flow sheets and charts, and reporting any changes in residents’ conditions to the Nurse Supervisor or Change Nurse promptly.

CNAs are required to report all accidents and incidents they observe during their shift as soon as they occur, ensuring proper documentation and immediate communication with the nursing team.

CNAs must ensure that residents’ rooms are ready for their arrival by making beds, putting up name tags, and ensuring that admissions kits are available to provide a welcoming environment.

CNAs assist residents with daily dental and mouth care, which includes brushing teeth or dentures, maintaining oral hygiene, and providing any special mouth care needed to promote residents’ health.

Greeting residents and escorting them to their rooms helps create a warm and welcoming environment, making residents feel comfortable and cared for, which is essential in a memory care setting.

CNAs participate in and receive nursing reports when they report for duty, which helps ensure continuity of care and that all relevant information about residents’ conditions and needs is communicated effectively.
