Candidates must possess a valid and current Certified Nursing License that is in good standing with the California Department of Public Health licensing board. The license must be active and free from any disciplinary actions.

The primary responsibilities include providing routine daily nursing care and services to residents based on their assessment and care plan. The CNA also reports any changes in residents’ conditions to the nurse supervisor or charge nurse.

CNAs are expected to identify residents using wristbands or photo cards before administering treatments or serving meals. They must record all entries accurately on flow sheets, notes, or charts using authorized abbreviations and report all accidents or incidents observed during their shift.

CNAs are required to not disclose residents’ protected health information and to promptly report any suspected violations of confidentiality to the administrator. They must also report any unauthorized attempts to access the facility’s information system.

CNAs are responsible for ensuring that the resident’s room is ready for their arrival, which includes making the bed, putting up name tags, and making sure the admission kit is available. They also greet residents and escort them to their rooms.

CNAs inventory and mark residents’ personal possessions as instructed, store their clothing properly, and assist residents with packing their belongings when they are being transferred to another location.
